Laser Hair Removal for Men

We have suitable lasers for lighter and darker skin types. All clients will be required to attend for a patch test prior to commencing a course of laser to assess suitability.

Based on research to achieve the desired reduction an average of 6 treatments at regular intervals (approx. every 6 weeks) is recommended. Hair grows in cycles – Anagin (growing phase), Catogen (resting phase), and Telogen (shedding stage). To achieve permanent results the hairs must be in the growing stage for the energy to reach the hair root.Again we know from research, approx. 15% of anagen hairs are in the growing stage at the time of treatment therefore we can achieve 80% reduction after a course of six treatments.

We would ask for you to initially follow our detailed aftercare plan post treatment. We can provide you with a full homecare routine using advanced skincare to help prolong the results and continue to maintain healthy skin. We will provide you with a personal product prescription for you to follow at home.

There is very little downtime to Laser Hair Removal. There may be redness and swelling of each hair follicle in the treatment site, which can last up to two hours or longer. The redness may last up to 2-3 days. In order to lessen and prevent this from happening we advise Apply aloe vera gel onto the treated area for 48 hours after treatment and to wear an SPF of 30 minimum on the area daily.

Precare:Clients must arrive to their appointments shaved prior to treatmentShave the area 24 hours before treatment with a new razor, South William Clinic is not responsible for shaving clients.Avoid use of make-up and flammable substances on the area to be treated.You must use SPF 30 (minimum) on the area daily (if the face)Avoid sun exposure, tanning injectables and sunbeds 4-6 weeks before the treatment.Laser treatments cannot and will not be done if client has fake tan or a natural tan on the day of treatment (recently tanned skin if treated may develop white spots after treatment and this may not clear for 2-3 months or longer)The use of self-tanning skin products must be discontinued two weeks before treatmentYou must avoid bleaching, hair removal creams, epilating, plucking, tweezing or waxing hair for 4-6 weeks before treatment.Before each treatment you are required to inform your therapist if you are taking any antibiotics or if medications have changed since your last visit.
